A challange to Drake : Organize a Toronto Food Drive

OPEN LETTER TO DRAKE
More Info: #endTOhunger

#endTOhunger is a challange created by artist and Toronto resident David Porteous in an effort to end food insecurity in Toronto by encouraging Drake to leverage his celebrity and talent to engage his fans to help end hunger in Toronto.

"Why Drake? Why not!" says Porteous. "His talent and passion for Toronto affords him the opportunity to inspire an incredibly diverse group of fans who have the capacity to create palpable and positive change within our city."

The #endTOhunger challange has been released in conjunction with Porteous' The Sicks, a quirky parody-comedy about Toronto that includes Porteous portraying parody rapper "DR. AKE,” who performs a cover of Drakes "Energy" with new lyrics that highlight food insecurity in Toronto.

Purchase the parody song on Bandcamp (all money made from the song will be donated to the Daily Bread Food Bank). Connect with DR AKE on Twitter and Instagram and view the parody music video here.

More Info: Toronto's Daily Bread Food Bank

One in Eight homes in Toronto struggle with food insecurity.

Toronto's Daily Bread Food Bank is the largest Food Bank in the city and supports over 80 000 people.

The warehouse may look like it's full of food, but it's not even half of what is needed.

Of those who use the food bank, 1/3 are children.

The majority of those who are in need of food support have lost their job, or suffer from a disability.

10 000 volunteers support the Daily Bread Food Bank every year.

You can donate by dropping off non-perishable food at a Firehall any time of the year.

The Daily Bread food bank is also in dire need of your financial donations.
