A challange to Drake : Organize a Toronto Food Drive

OPEN LETTER TO DRAKE

"If someone influential like Drake supports a charity, then it raises the awareness of the charity, and people who support Drake support that charity."

Gail Nyberg Executive Director, Daily Bread Food Bank

OPEN LETTER TO DRAKE

Dear DRAKE,

We are both fortunate to call Toronto home. With our incredibly diverse population, our pride is derived from our togetherness. Not even the 140 languages spoken in our city can prevent us from connecting with one another.

Our pride is also derived from our caring of those in need.
Over 10 000 volunteers walk through the doors at the Daily Bread food bank every year to support those who suffer from food insecurity.

However, this support only scratches the surface.

The number of visits to a food bank has increased by 12% since 2008. 32% of those visiting a food bank are children, and over 50% have a disability. The average length of a person relying on food bank has doubled from one year to two years.

So this letter is asking you, if you are willing, to help the food insecurity issue in Toronto by:

- Asking your fans to donate food to the Daily Bread Food Bank

- Performing a charity concert in Toronto to raise money for the Daily Bread Food Bank.

With your amazing talent, influence and desire to support those in need, I am confident our city can #endTOhunger.

Sincerely,

David Porteous
Creator of #endTOhunger
